Wednesday EPL & MLS Rumours - De Guzman interview, De Rosario, Denilson

EPL

+ Wigan are closing in on a £4.5M deal for Colombian striker Hugo Rodallega, currently plying his trade with Necaxa in Mexico. As soon as he arrives, Henri Camara will be free to to join Stoke.

+ West Ham have agreed to sell Matthew Etherington to Stoke for £4M and Calum Davenport to Bolton for £3M.

+ Bolton, for some reason, have decided to hand a trial to Denilson, who was shit at FC Dallas.  Methinks Gary Megson's "look" is going to be pretty quick.

+ Hull have told Dean Windass he's free to leave the club on loan.

+ Inspired by Jermain Defoe's attire at White Hart Lane (see photo above), The Daily Mail has a look at football's biggest fashion criminals.

+ Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid rumours are set to flare up again. Ho hum.

+ Roman Ambramovich is no longer number one on football's rich list. Or number two.

+ Luiz Felipe Scolari is unlikely to partner Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka in attack against Manchester United on Sunday, because he feels he is without a genuine left winger at the moment.

+ Man City's billionaire owners want two world class players at every position. An offer of £20M to Juventus for David Trezeguet is today's rumour du jour.

+ Arsenal will only sell Kolo Toure if Matthew Upson is brought in.

CSA/MLS/USL

+ Canadian midfielder Julian De Guzman has some strong words for the CSA and OSA in a candid interview at The Canadian Stretford End.

+ Your daily dose of Dwayne De Rosario contract negotiation updates from The 24th Minute.

+ Ives Galarcep looks at five teams Toronto FC could trade with at the draft.

+ The Montreal Impact are set to sign Canadian goalkeeper Srdjan Djekanovic. They've also lost star defender Gabriel Gervais to retirement.

+ Rapids defender Ugo Ihemelu has been invited to the United States national team training camp. Ihemelu is eligible to play for Canada and was named to Dale Mitchell's Florida training camp last June.

+ Wake Forest star forward and projected high draft pick Marcus Tracy will pass on MLS and try his luck in Europe.

Italy

+ Is Inter Milan lining up a shocking swoop for Sampdoria's Antonio Cassano? (Bari represent!)

+ Juventus and Roma are both hot on the trail of Bayern Munich forward Lukas Podolski?

+ David Beckham's debut for Milan didn't impress the Italian media. Carlo Ancelotti was pleased with his play though, and I guess that's all that really matters.

Is Scolari a moron? Maybe he should play Joe Cole on the left side, he is used to it. Or maybe he shouldn't have sold Bridge, played him at full back and put Cashley Cole in the midfield role. Either of these would be more successful than Malouda. Maybe he should sign Downing since he thinks Malouda is good. lol

I was surprised to learn to Joey Barton is Tony Adams' #1 target in the transfer window.  Barton had a spell in Adams' clinic "Sporting Chance" and Adams thinks that he can get the best out of him.  I think that if Tony can get the best out of him then he would make a great signing but that is a big if.  Also I hope that Newcastle is going to pay us for taking him, if there is a transfer fee involved I will we have been had, unless it is a per game played fee or something along those lines.

More Pompey news is that Herman Hreidersson is going to leave in the Window, all I can say is about time.  I can't believe we let Taylor go and get Herman.

Also Sidney Govou has turned down the opportunity to replace Defoe at Fratton Park.

I read Sam's interview with JDG and despite my best efforts it doesn't look like he will be headed to Pompey in the window, let alone England.

Joe - what do you think of Matthew Taylor for Chelsea's left side?  I think that he is a similar player to Tuncay but comes at a cheaper price tag.  I think that either of them would be an improvement over Malouda.

I forgot to mention, about the Man City owners comments, to have two world class players at every position, that is a recipe for disaster not success.  I would hate to have a team where I had 4 world class players that i couldn't even put on the bench, I can't imagine that being a cheerful dressing room.
