Report: TFC to sign Chris Pozniak

Hat-tip to reader Zeelaw for the find in The Press and Journal

'Meanwhile, Dundee’s Canadian midfielder Chris Pozniak has agreed a deal to leave the club and will sign for FC Toronto next week."

So it looks like the Poz is back, and his versatility -- he can play anywhere in defence or midfield in a pinch -- is badly needed on the thin Toronto bench right now.

Dundee's site has reported that they have let go of Pozniak too.  If that increases the likelihood of the report.

hhaha, I guess this commercial is coming back..

So i guess you can say Poz is the new Kevin Harmse who was the old Chris Pozniak.

Now lets find some wingers, instread of playing converted forwards or central mid fielders on the wing.

But can he play prior to the 15th?

Re: the 15th, not sure how the international transfer rules work here, but originally he had one year left in his contract at Dundee before they mutually agreed to part ways. He is on Canada's Gold Cup roster though - although I believe (though am not sure) that he's on the 3 man "taxi" squad that aren't actually with the team but could get called in in the event to injury to one of the squad of 20 (Stamatopolous & Gbeke being the other two). So if Canada should make a long Gold Cup run into the latter part of the month with the squad they have, Poz would be available to play with TFC by the 15th, if not earlier.

f the way the guy explained the rules previously is right, we'd have to wait for the 15th.

Simply because durring the last registration window, Poz was with Dundee so he can't be re-registered with TFC until the window opens.

I think this is a good signing.  Thats what you need to do in the midseason window, sign some known talent to strengthen your squad, not buy some striker who might be or might not be good enough.  Chris will do well as he knows the club and will slide in seamlessly as a backup player.  Smart signing Mo.

Pretty decent bench signing. Hopefully cheap too.

Bettern Harmse imo.

Id like to see Rosenlund back too, i always felt he never had a good go of it, but i think he'd expect playing time. Felt he had good positioning, speed etc but terrible finishing.

MLS Extratime claims TFC made an offer to Julian DeGuzman in L.A. this week. They're looking to make him their DP. Anyone else hear this?
