  • Trader Mo to go to work

The MLS trade window is about to open. Toronto FC created some headlines this week with the release of their protected list for the expansion draft. Many people questioned why some players were left on that list and you have to wonder how many of those players protected will be on their opening day roster. Check Thursday's podcast for more analysis on that this week. Two players I expect to be playing elsewhere are defenders Julius James and Tyrone Marshall . Lets take James first. James had...

  • Your thoughts on Saturday's action

Ahead of Sunday's Footy Show (10:30am et) what are your thoughts on the following: Man City 3 Arsenal 0 - Gallas stripped of Captaincy, and dropped from the squad! Did Wenger have any choice? Is too much being made of Gallas's comments? Chelsea 0 Newcastle 0 Aston Villa 0 Man Utd 0 Liverpool 0 Fulham 0 Wow, what a barn-burning weekend of Premier League football! I just hope it all means we are in for a boat load of goals on Sunday's Black Cats - Hammers encounter Live on The Score!

  • The Sharman 5 (Nov 21/08)

This Sunday we will have Neil Davidson of Canadian Press in studio. Neil has his ear close to the ground on all things Canadian soccer, so we will certainly be delving into the sordid world of the Canadian Soccer Association, and just what the future holds for coach Dale Mitchell. Let us know your thoughts on this, and the following, and hey, whatever else is making you go hmmmmm! (Credit there to the great Arsenio Hall.) Before I start though, please have a look at this, it is as funny a video as...

  • Euro 2016 - too many freakin' teams!

As I had feared, UEFA have decided that because Euro 2008 was such a superb tournament, and nothing really needed to be fixed, they will indeed try and fix it! The 2016 tournament will expand from 16 teams to 24 ! Isn't that special! What makes Euro so enjoyable is the constant quality of matches. Yes, there are the odd whipping boys, but generally speaking the top 16 teams in Europe are all quality sides. Of course giving two nations co-hosting duties can dilute the tournament, but that's...

  • The Footy Show this Sunday

Just a reminder we are back this Sunday at 8:30am et, ahead of Chelsea vs Manchester Utd. This week former Canadian International, NASL, and English League professional Gord Sweetzer joins Kristian, Joe, and myself. As well as a long playing career, Sweets was close friends, and a former teammate of Budgie! He has some great stories, some of which we might be able to talk about on television... maybe! Anything you'd like to ask Sweets, just let us know here on the blog. Also, jump in with your...
