  • The Tuesday Table

Happy Tuesday footy folks, Kristian Jack back with you for this symbol of footballing excellence and that's the institution, for three weeks now anyway, known as The Tuesday Table. Remember, the number in brackets is their position from last week: 1. Liverpool (1) - I said last week that the only reason they are top is the poor play of their rivals but that is not true this week. They were very poor in the first half at Arsenal but I continue to see this team grow up in front of our very own...

Happy Tuesday footy folks, Kristian Jack back with you for this symbol of footballing excellence and that's the institution, for two weeks now anyway, known as The Tuesday Table. This week the number in brackets is their position from last week: 1. Liverpool (1) - I said last week that they have yet to play their best football and are still at the top of the league. Even I didn't expect, though, that this would be extended into another week. The only reason they are top right now is down...

  • The Tuesday Table

Happy Tuesday footy folks, If you are like me and you are already overlooking this week's irrelevant Champions League games then this is the blog for you. Each week I will dissect the world's greatest league and provide you with my very own rankings. Sure, the table never lies and this year is the closest season in recent memory and parity reigns supreme - blah, blah, blah. Following yesterday's podcast in which we argued the plight of West Brom I have been inspired to start a new segment...

  • Kinnear loses the plot

Alright, a week into his new 'interim' job, and Newcastle's Joe Kinnear has lost his mind! As much as I understand his frustration with certain areas of the media, this is out of line! Perhaps he has forgotten what it is like to be a manager, and how you need to deal with the media on a daily basis, but this is unbelievable! Check out this link , but be prepared to keep the boss, or the kids away from the computer. If his brogue is too strong, here is a transcript ! Let us know your thoughts...

  • Baker's Dozen

Phil Brown beat Arsene Wenger yet more penalties were awarded when they shouldn't have been and once again referees dominated the headlines over the teams themselves. With that in mind I will dedicate this week's column to all the inconsistent referees around the world and not mention a thing about their performances. Here's a list of the 13 thoughts I had over the last few days in the Premiership. 1. Many people still think Hull City will go down. I happily admit that I felt that way...

  • The Sharman 5 (Sept 26/08)

Will St. James' be roaring, or whimpering? Joe Kinnear as interim gaffer is hardly going to appease the Geordie faithful, but will his comments? Suggesting that Newcastle will be sold soon, and Kevin Keegan and Alan Shearer returning to the fold, may be fact, or it may be fiction. However I wonder how the fans will view the comments, or will they see through them as Mike Ashley's attempt to fill the house. After all, this weeks approx 20,000 turnout for the Carling Cup loss to Spurs was embarressing...

  • Kinnear in at St. James'

Joe Kinnear has been hired as Newcastle's official new interim/caretaker/short-term/thankless job/why, but why, dear God, manager. Read the details here . Apparently Terry Venebles turned down an offer of one hundred thousand pounds per match! That tells me two things, firstly football has obviously been very good to Terry Venebles, and secondly, this must be one messed up situation for anyone to turn that offer down! Kinnear, the former Wimbledon manager, worked with Dennis Wise for many years...
