  • The Tuesday Table

Happy Tuesday footy folks, Kristian Jack back with you for this symbol of footballing excellence and that's the institution, for four weeks now anyway, known as The Tuesday Table. This week there is no key stat as they don't play in the league this weekend and also it saves me time to continue to work on my Top 100 Premiership Players that I will reveal on New Year's Eve. Remember, the number in brackets is their position from last week: 1. Liverpool (1) - Absolute domination against...

  • Stevie G set to be tested

It did seem that Steven Gerrard was just too squeaky clean didn't it. Yes, he had that flirtation with Chelsea on a couple of occasions, and yes, he has been known for the odd rash challenge, or embellishment on the field, overall though, he has been the the model pro, someone who actually was a role model for youngsters. Until now that is. As you probably know, the Liverpool skipper has been charged with Assault and Affray, after an incident at a nightclub on Sunday night. Already, some of the...

  • Gerrard arrested, plus video of Fuller slapping his own captain and Phil Brown's unusual halftime talk

So...yeah. Steven Gerrard was arrested this morning . Apparently he was involved in some type of bar fight and has been taken into custody on suspicion of assault. I'm sure more details will be revealed as time goes on today, but I'm just going to jump the gun here and do the usual court of public opinion thing by assuming he's guilty. Which means I think he should serve some jail time and thus miss some if not all of the remaining Premier League season, darkening Liverpool's increasingly...

Happy Tuesday footy folks, Kristian Jack back with you for this symbol of footballing excellence and that's the institution, for three weeks now anyway, known as The Tuesday Table. Remember, the number in brackets is their position from last week: 1. Liverpool (1) - I said last week that the only reason they are top is the poor play of their rivals but that is not true this week. They were very poor in the first half at Arsenal but I continue to see this team grow up in front of our very own...

Happy Tuesday footy folks, Kristian Jack back with you for this symbol of footballing excellence and that's the institution, for two weeks now anyway, known as The Tuesday Table. This week the number in brackets is their position from last week: 1. Liverpool (1) - I said last week that they have yet to play their best football and are still at the top of the league. Even I didn't expect, though, that this would be extended into another week. The only reason they are top right now is down...

Happy Tuesday footy folks, If you are like me and you are already overlooking this week's irrelevant Champions League games then this is the blog for you. Each week I will dissect the world's greatest league and provide you with my very own rankings. Sure, the table never lies and this year is the closest season in recent memory and parity reigns supreme - blah, blah, blah. Following yesterday's podcast in which we argued the plight of West Brom I have been inspired to start a new segment...

  • Your thoughts on Saturday's action

Ahead of Sunday's Footy Show (10:30am et) what are your thoughts on the following: Man City 3 Arsenal 0 - Gallas stripped of Captaincy, and dropped from the squad! Did Wenger have any choice? Is too much being made of Gallas's comments? Chelsea 0 Newcastle 0 Aston Villa 0 Man Utd 0 Liverpool 0 Fulham 0 Wow, what a barn-burning weekend of Premier League football! I just hope it all means we are in for a boat load of goals on Sunday's Black Cats - Hammers encounter Live on The Score!

  • The Sharman 5 (Nov 7/2008)

Apologies for the blog blowing up last night, everything was lost including comments, so please get back on. All set for another weekend, which despite my energy levels in this weeks Monday pod, is exciting, as every week the Premier League is delivering. This Sunday, Kristian, Joe and I, will be joined by Greg Brady. Greg currently hosts The Bill Watters Show on am640, but he is also an avid footy fan, and is a regular guest on BBC's brilliant show 'Fighting Talk.' There are some good...

  • The Sharman 5 (Oct 24/08)

This weekend is actually pretty juicy, with some intriguing matches. Just to remind you, the time change in UK means that our coverage begins an hour later than usual on Sunday, with The Footy Show at 11:30am et, followed by West Ham vs Arsenal at 12pm et. However, we will be up at 10:30am et, with EPL Retro, Chelsea vs Arsenal from 99/00. Onwards to some plotlines I'll be following this weekend. Again give us your thoughts on these, and any other issues you want to discuss, including Saturdays...

  • The Sharman 5 (Oct 3/08)

I still can't get over that Kinnear rant! Don't forget to keep your comments coming on all the topics, including whatever happens on Saturday, and early Sunday morning, we want your voice to be heard on The Footy Show. To this week's Sharman 5: Will Newcastle find that siege mentality or not? Between F-bombs, and C-nukes, some of what Joe Kinnear said made sense. He is trying to instill a siege mentality at St. James', an 'us against the rest of the world' emotion. I wonder...

  • Gunners back down to earth... with a thud!

In my Sharman 5 this week I asked if Arsene Wenger would reward some of his Carling Cup starlets with a start against Hull. He didn't, and the veterans rewarded him with a stinker, and a 2-1 loss to the hard charging Hull! Unbelievable, and with the points, goes my Gold lock in Footy Fantasy! We'll be talking about this on Sunday's Footy Show. Let us know your thoughts, especially all you Gooners out there. Other topics we'll likely be chatting about: - Man Utd win yet another controversial...
