
Nik Antropov's stay in the Big Apple was a short one.
The former Toronto Maple Leafs forward left the New York Rangers Thursday to sign a four-year, $16-million deal with the Atlanta Thrashers. Antropov's camp was reportedly seeking a contract that would pay the 29-year-old $5-million per season, but settled for 80 percent of his ask.
He made $2.15M in 2008-09.
The 6'6" Kazhak-born player is coming off a season where he scored career-high 28 goals and 59 points.
He was traded by the Maple Leafs to the Rangers for draft picks at the trade deadline.
