Antropov Goes To Atlanta Thrashers

Nik Antropov's stay in the Big Apple was a short one.

The former Toronto Maple Leafs forward left the New York Rangers Thursday to sign a four-year, $16-million deal with the Atlanta Thrashers. Antropov's camp was reportedly seeking a contract that would pay the 29-year-old $5-million per season, but settled for 80 percent of his ask.

He made $2.15M in 2008-09.

The 6'6" Kazhak-born player is coming off a season where he scored career-high 28 goals and 59 points.

He was traded by the Maple Leafs to the Rangers for draft picks at the trade deadline.

as long as hes not in T.O. i don't give a rats ass where he plays like johnny said he sleeps or disappears half way through the season.  toronto should have got rid of him years ago.

I think with kovalchuk on his side Antropov could have a good year .  He grinds hard and controls the puck on the boards.  Not ever going to be s uperstar but his numbers could improve because he is playing with one.
