Obligatory Sports Babe
Today's babe is Luke Walton's stalker. [Courtsey: Deadspin]
What? Luke freakin' Walton has a stalker you say?
Oh yes. It's true. Read all about it at the Orange County Register. Some highlight quotes from Walton:
“I’ll be going somewhere, and she’ll be following me everywhere I go. I’ll start really driving nuts, and she’s right behind me, staying with me. It sucks, because you figure you just go out and play basketball and you have your personal life, but then you have to start worrying about stuff like, ‘I don’t want to drive to my teammates’ houses if she’s following me, because I don’t want her to know where my teammates live.’ "
and
“It was more an annoyance than anything else until recently when she did that gun thing (gesturing at him with her hand as if shooting at him). And then I was like, ‘All right. Now she’s crossed the line.’ ”
Oh...So You Want One of Those "Pretty" Sports Babes
Alright, fine then you superficial frat boys. Here's Whitney, from the Boston Bruins Ice Girls
The Angry T has compiled photos of Ice Girls from around the National Hockey League and devised his predictions based on their pics.
From the Department of the Surreal: US Soldier Impersonates Harry Carey while searching for WMDs.
I saw this on Ballhype.
I'd argue that he's actually impersonating Will Ferrell impersonating Harry Carey, but that's beside the point. This guy is clearly the "Private Joker" of his platoon. 20 years later, the influence of Matthew Modine in western culture lives on.
The NBA is Back!
The Toronto Raptors played their first pre-season game of the 2008-09 season, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 104-84. Jermaine O'Neal debuted with 11 points and 4 rebounds in 19 minutes, while Andrea Bargnani had 15 points and 8 boards (2 offensive) in 25 minutes.
Dino Nation, Raptors Talk and The Arsenalist have all the post-game analysis you'll need.
Here's your first glimpse of JO in a Raps uniform during game play:

(He was 3-for-3) from the line.
Greg Oden finally took the court for the Portland Trail Blazers in their 110-81 win over the Sacramento Kings. The big man registered 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks in 20 minutes. Highlights of his dominance of the Kings and some magic from Rudy Fernandez can be seen here.
Dave at Blazers Edge reviewed Oden's performance. He's understandably jacked about some flashes of sheer force the giant centre showed, but he tempers his enthusiasm with a couple of criticisms.
I've got an Oden pic for you as well. Terrifying.
