biathlon Obligatory Sports Babe(s)

It would appear that the women of the Canadian Olympic biathlon team have jumped on the female athlete nude calendar bandwagon. And who are we to stand in their way? More information on the girls and how to get the calendar here.

Free Tacos and Dr. Pepper, Just What America Needs

I don't think this stuff applies in Canada, so it's hard to get too excited about it, but any of our American friends out there had a good day yesterday (well... unless deep into the stock market): not only did an actual finished-sounding song from Guns N' Roses stupidly overdue album, Chinese Democracy, finally make its way onto the internet, but somebody stole a base in the World Series. What does that mean, exactly? Well, Dr. Pepper is prepared to make good on their offer to give everybody in America a free Dr. Pepper if Axl's veiled solo project was actually released in the calendar year 2008. And in a similarly lame promotion, because a base was stolen by Jason Bartlett in game one of the World Series last night, Taco Bell has agreed to give out free tacos to anybody who wants one. Outstanding.

The St. Louis Blues Don't Have YouTube

After the minute-long Philly salute that Sarah Palin received when she dropped the puck last week (best audio I've heard in the clip below, by far), you'd think another team wouldn't want to touch this woman with a ten foot pole. Uh... not so.

For some reason that I will never be able to understand, the St. Louis Blues have decided to have their own little PR fiasco, by inviting the least popular hockey mom in the world to reprise her role as a target of scorn. Bravo, Dave Checketts. Bravo.

Tom Brady's Knee Not Doing So Well

Right about now, I would not want to be the surgeon who worked on Tom Brady's knee. Apparently he's suffered yet another setback, and according to the Boston Herald, "Doctors are so concerned about containing the infection in Tom Brady’s left knee they have performed three procedures in an attempt to eradicate it."

Leaked South Park Script

SomethingAwful.com has somehow manage to get a hold of the first three pages of the script to next week's new episode of South Park. Amazing.

Fire Joe Morgan: Back Nailing It

The heading here pretty much says anything I could hope to say about this, but I guess I can attempt to elaborate. Fire Joe Morgan, if you somehow don't already know, is a blog that serves up astoundingly biting and hilarious criticism of mainstream baseball Luddites-- and is written, among others, by one of the writers/producers of the Office. For the early part of October, I think I went to their site about seventeen times a day hoping for something new to be posted, but they didn't seem to have anything to say. Finally, in the last few days, they've unleashed a torrent. All of it fantastic.
