Namely, that if you're going to call it streaking, clothing is not optional. If you want to wear a few clothes, that's fine, but what you're actually doing is running across a field, not streaking-- and if you ask me, if a thing's worth doing, it's worth doing right. Am I wrong?

Of course, if they had done it properly, I'm thinking this shaky little YouTube clip would have got somebody arrested by now-- because these are high school girls. So, in that regard, I guess their misinterpretation is sort of a good news / bad news situation. "Good", that is, if you can actually watch this without feeling so much like a creepy old man that you have to stop the clip-- which, of course, I can.

The story goes, according to the CBC (whose motives I still don't quite understand in picking up this story and deeming it "news", but... y'know... good on them), that twelve girls, mostly cheerleaders for South Delta Secondary School, "streaked" onto the field in their underwear and sprayed the visiting team with silly string.

What a burn! If there's anything I know about high school football players, it's that they hate it when twelve girls from the opposing school come bounding at them from across the field, in their underwear, armed with foam. Whoa! Good one, girls! That must have sucked. Those Surrey guys will probably be reliving visions of your attack for weeks.

"Many parents and children left the game in disgust after the prank," said Ted Johnson, the principal of South Delta. Obviously swayed by all these angry parents, Principal Hardass really threw the book at these girls, explaining to the CBC that "he has told the girls involved that they will be suspended from school if they do anything else wrong," and that "they must also encourage younger students to end the streaking tradition." Harsh toke!
