Sorry to just jumble a bunch of unrelated things into a post as though this were a Morning Link Dump, or... well... at least half of the post I write for this site, but to be honest, I've been busy all day trying to keep tabs on baseball's Winter Meetings over at Drunk Jays Fans, and the sweet nothing that the Jays have been up to so far. Anyway, here are a few end of day tidbits I'd like to share.
+ First, I'd like to point out that the Score is getting into the live blog business, for both the web and their iPhone app. It's not a quite finished product yet, but I'll be running a test tonight, giving the Leafs-Islanders game a proper, Guardian-style live blogging. Check it out here to follow along-- and go ahead and send some comments.
+ Secondly, I'd like to wonder aloud just exactly how high Chicago Bulls rookie Derek Rose must have been when he gashed his arm last night. "I was cutting up some food," he explains, "and I laid on a knife getting lazy in bed. I went to go get a bottle of water, came back, forgot the knife was there, then sat down and sliced my arm." He needed ten stitches, but sounds like he won't miss any time.
+ Via Deadspin, this is West Virginia coach Bill Stewart ending a press conference in one of the most puzzling ways I've ever seen. (Note: He said lubricate. Heh heh heh.)
+ And finally, we now have video of the O Canada debacle-turned-triumph from the Bills game at the Rogers Centre this weekend. But, of course, for some reason they've turned off the embedding function, so you'll have to actually watch it here on YouTube. [via Posted Sports]
Though, on second though, you might want to watch this other, shorter video. It has less of the girl butchering the song, and more of the crowd drowning her out, which is also good. Plus, whoever posted it isn't an asshole who doesn't want to let it be embedded...
