Trust me, I know how enjoyable it is to taunt opposing players when you're at a game. I also know that occasionally it backfires. For example, you'll never convince me that my friends and I taunting Jose Canseco in an emptied stadium in the top of the ninth inning of the Jays' six-run domination of Tampa in the 1999 home opener weren't at fault for him crushing a fifth-deck blast farther than just about any ball I've ever seen. (OK, so maybe it doesn't happen very often.)...

  • Monday Shamelessness - December 29th

Good morning... here's an idea: let's take a look at what some of the blogs on the Score Sports Federation are saying! (At least, the ones who've posted since Friday.) Hockey + A hilarious look at who may have kicked the ball that took out Matt Stajan's eye. [ Down Goes Brown ] + Noticing Lee Stempniak's in Ron Wilson's doghouse, raggin' on the Score.com blog's name (wait, what?) and enjoying somebody getting hurt. Plus some wicked Fantasy info for you poolies. [ Fantasy...

  • Take That BC: Toronto Shows The Country How To Streak

Yes, unlike those high school girls from Delta that I posted about last week , our Toronto streaker fully understands the meaning of the term. Of course, instead of jailbait in their underwear, this is some dude with a well-placed foam finger. So... maybe it's still not quite as good. Full points for the effort though. (The foam finger is an excellent touch.) Then again, the event did seem to inspire Alex Rios, who hit a go-ahead home run two pitches later. Now, this clip may be NSFW, depending...

  • Commercial Break - October 31

It's once again time for a word from our sponsors. (Though again, these are, obviously, not actually our sponsors.) This girl is lucky she's got huge cans, because she's about as sharp as a bag of wet hair. Ralph's Williams Stadium? Orcheshire Park, New York? Where the hell do I know this Mark Hebscher-looking guy from?!? I mean besides this commercial which is obviously a classic-- and not only because dude is rocking the classic early-90s Scarborough mullet-perm... And while we're...

  • Matt Stairs: Possibly Too Much Information?

The excellent Philly sports blog, the Fightins , brings us this clip from the post-game NLCS press conference Monday, in which New Brunswick native, and former Blue Jay, Matt Stairs cemented his legacy as probably the greatest Phillie ever. Suck on this, Mike Schmidt... “When you get that nice celebration coming into the dugout and you’re getting your ass hammered by guys — there’s no better feeling than to have that done.” Amen, Stairsy.

  • The 2008 Blue Jays Through The Eyes Of Unmotivational Posters: Part II

Hey! It's the second of our two-part series looking back at the 2008 Toronto Blue Jays season through the time-tested medium of motivational poster! In case you weren't paying attention, Scott Herkes and I brought you the first part yesterday . Ahhh more memories... Stinking memories. Adam Dunn hates baseball so much that he puts up ridiculously good numbers with eerie consistency (like hitting exactly 40 HR each of the last four years, or his OBP over the last five: .388, .387, .365, .386...

  • The Toronto Blue Jays + Math = ????

Q: How do you get kids interested in Trigonometry? A: Uh... ....... ummmmmmm ... errr....... ahhh.... with . . . a cartoon about kids in a spaceship who are jacked about going to see the Toronto Blue Jays? Exactly! Bookend it with a little porn bass-line, then toss in a giant phallic symbol, a psychedelic poster in the background that appears to have something to do with Mr. T, and a winking supercomputer with the all the personality of, uh... the Toronto Blue Jays, and I'm pretty sure you've...

  • The 2008 Blue Jays Through The Eyes Of Unmotivational Posters: Part I

In the first of a two-part series, Scott Herkes and I take a look back at the 2008 Toronto Blue Jays season-- because, obviously, we're masochists-- through the time-tested medium of motivational poster. Ahhh memories... Stinking memories. I remember Opening Night like it was yesterday. I thought to myself, "Hey this looks like a sign of things to come." I was right, we got pounded early and often this year. - SH You know, there's a fine line between being a slow starter and being...
