Winds of change about to blow in Ottawa?

Are the Ottawa Senators finally giving up on Vermette?  After Ottawa's shootout loss to the Rangers on Monday night, Vancouver scouts were supposedly in New York to take in the game.  The Ohlund to Ottawa rumour has resurfaced and apparently Antoine Vermette is the bait.

I'm in the camp that likes Vermette, but I'm tired of waiting for this future star to emerge.  Tons of speed and no finish.

Ohlund has a no movement clause and would have to approve a move to Ottawa.  If I was him I wouldn't want to come into this mess.  At least he's used to the Canadian press in Vancouver.

Look for something to happen should we play another stinker against the Habs on Thursday!

GO SENS GO!

I agree with Jon giving up Vermette is not something I want to do. He's a great player that just hasn't found the consistent part of his game. I can see him getting 60 points a year and be a great second line winger. I would only trade a guy like him or Fisher if there was a deal we could not pass up. I don't believe Ohlund wants to come here he's already stated that he doesn't want to leave Vancouver.

That being said if there was a place Vermette would go I would imagine it would be Florida. Since the Sens have already been rumoured to want Bouwmester. And Martin supposedly would really love to get his hands on Vermette. So I say we probably have a better chance of getting Bouwmester then we do Ohlund.

Also Murray better not do something just for the shake of shaking things up. He did that last year and look what happened.

I doubt Ohlund goes anywhere before the deadline. But I agree with ya Devon I think Murray would prefer Bouwmeester than Ohlund. Personally I hope Murray tries to move Kelly before Vermette, because Vermette at the deadline might be worth a little more than what is now....... Plus I think Kelly is easier to replace than is Vermette.

Kelly is well... I don't know what to think of him he's a poor man's version of Stephane Yelle. That being said someone with penalty killing troubles would definetly be interested in his services.

Hey, I prefer Boomweester too... I was just reporting the latest rumour.  I think it will cost quite a bit more to sign Boomweester though.

Bouwmeester will likely be able to get Dion Phaneuf money if he decides to sign with Florida or the team he's traded to. But he could easily get Campbell type money if he waited till July 1st. But the main thing on Bouwmeesters mind coming into this season was going to a winner. That being said the Sens will have to make some moves to probably impress Bouwmeester into staying with the team if we do land him. It's not all about the money for him he just wants to end the fact. That if he stays in Florida he likely won't see the post season anytime soon.
