Great entertaining Junior hockey that makes NHL regular season pale in comparison !! I was quite disappointed in Tavares in the major matchups , as he seemed slow in those matchups . He floats a lot - especially backchecking and defencesive zone . The kid has lots of offencesive talent , but little defencesively from what i seen . I think Hedman will go number one this next draft ,because Tavares is lax defencesively .

Whats the guy doing/thinking trying to choke an opponent putting his fingers down his throat with a dirty glove , anyways ?

We're always bringing in guys who have cup experience and what not, problem is they were players that were just a long for the ride, not clutch players, (Stillman and Hasek aside)

Plus having a no-trade clause does not prevent you from being traded, the player just has the option to decide whether or not he'll allow it. For instance Dan Boyle had a "No Movement" clause in his contract that he signed with Tampa Bay and he's a Shark. Stillman waved his no trade clause to come to us........ It just takes some selling to the player, maybe Fisher and Vermette should sit a few games, that way they're stock can at the very least stop droping.....if you catch my drift.

I agree.....there is no saving this season, other than Alfy and Spezza, no one has stepped up their game an iota. The flip side to your coin, is by the time the trade deadline rolls around other players from other teams will be available that aren't available now.....lets face it...the guys we'd like to move are filler at best. The players we do likely move (Fisher & Phillips aside) the only reason we would be able to move them is because another team failed at getting the player they wanted. I mean Kelly at 2.3mil? There are a million better ways to spend that kind of cap space. Vermette? not even going to comment. The only way to salavage anything decent from this season is nothing short of A) Tavares or B) Hedman........ O'Brien, Karlsson, and Petterson all had fantastic tournaments, and that is encouraging, Elliott is dominating the AHL so we have a future goaltender, we have a decent future ahead of us......but the present just stinks so bad it's sickening

Goalie : Don Beaupre....0-8 all time in a Leafs jersey....He didn't like the fact of being traded to T.O. His best days were in Washington.

Funny how Ruutu was good enough to play in the Finals last year.

Phillips and Fisher aren't going anywhere... I believe they both have no-trade clauses.

There's no saving this season so why rush and dump players for nothing? Might as well get the best deals possible for the players we do move, and that will only happen closer to the trade deadline.

well..... I called this months ago. BLOW THIS PATHETIC TEAM UP ALREADY!!! Unfortunately no one listened and now we can't. Bryan Murray is the WORST GM in the league. I have the answer everyone.....lets trade the only person on the team scoring any goals simply because he's the only player worth anything that doesn't have a no-trqade clause?

Please Eugene Melnyk, anybody, remove Murray as GM. I'll say this much....anyone out there regretting letting the names of Shero, Chiarelli,and Hedburg go? Murray has done everything wrong since taking over as GM. Someone should be talking to names like Feaster, Yzerman, hell bring back Pierre Gauthier, he may lack personality but is by far the best GM this team has ever had.

We'll be in the John Tavaras/Hedman running this year, and for the love of god don't trade Spezza, top centers are hard to find, and without him Heatley wouldn't be getting any points as it appears Spezza has had to take over the role of goal scorer and playmaker.

Lastly, Keep the big 3 and trade everything around them and just start over. Remove the "A" from Heatley as it hasn't helped his game one bit, and bring up the farm boys. Hell I'd put money down that if we brought up Binghamton's top PP unit I bet they'd out perform the big guns we have up here. Bingo I believe has the #1 PP in the AHL. They also have the goaltender of the month who happens to lead the AHL in wins, top 3 is SAVE%

Kelly, Vermette, Donovan, Neil, McAmmond, Schubert, Gerber, Phillips and Fisher have to be moved for this team to get better. Last night was just terrible, yes they picked it up, but to start the game you could really tell most of these players have packed it in already, they had to be tongue lashed in between periods to come out with any gusto.....

As for Ruutu, he better start dropping the gloves more often. He's too much of a coward to play on this team. Sometimes you just have to stand up and take it, he symbolizes what is wrong with this team

i think the whole team needs to go this player know they call the shots and no ones gonna do anything about it....and honestly its true out of the core group over the last 5 years has one player been traded for bad performace?...maybe other then a a couple exeptions i cant remember...thats what i think this teams problem is the players run the team...

Remember when I said that this trip would make or break this team? Well not only has it broke the Senators it's down right crushed them. It won't be long now before we start hearing the rumours. Or at least teams start calling Murray about certain players. I expect the main suspects at forward would be Fisher, Vermette, Kelly and Neil. Defensively, lots of teams will be calling about Phillips and Smith, and likely Kuba as well but I think we'd be better off keeping him around unless we net a 1st rounder for him. No one will want to touch Auld and Gerber so they'll remain the net minders. Gerber will likely see less and less action down the line to allow Elliot some more experience. As Glass is certainly not ready for the next step. At least Karlsson is looking like a gem for us. He'll definetly be on the roster next year and we'll likely see some of him once the trades start coming. And oh yes Murray your time is ticking my friend won't be long before you go bye bye and likely Hartsburg with you. Even though I don't really blame him or the coaching staff this year.

How do you argue that? Murphy ot a bum rap from the leafs. He was a god in Motown.
